Marble with semi-precious stones inlay Blossoming colinin flowers lend this box exuberant grandeur, their dark orange petals accompanied by miniscule jade, turquoise, and malachite blooms. The kaleidoscopic motif features 2,379 finely cut stones inlaid on lustrous Makrana marble. A work infused with the splendor of ancient India, this octagonal box will elicit many an admiring sigh. Makrana marble, renowned for its white translucent sheen, is quarried in the Rajastani region of India. The marble is cut and sculpted by hand without the use of a die and carefully dented in preparation for the stones. P.C. Gupta is responsible for the intricate designs, and a team of skilled artisans transform the design into a reality. Once finished it is carefully polished to reveal one of India's most admirable arts.
